Action Text: The Board of Regents approved Southern's request to merge or realign existing acadmemic colleges, schools and departments, resulting in a reduction of three deans (from nine to six) and 18 departments (from 39 to 21). Changes include the merger of: Education with Arts and Humanities; Sciences with Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences; and the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy into the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences; and name change from School to College of Nursing and Allied Health.
