A request for reauthorization is due by June 1, 2014. 10.22.2014: The Board of Regents granted reauthorization of the LSU Hurricane Center (which was suspended since 2008) for a period of one year, effective immediately. A request for additional authorization shall be due by October 1, 2015. 12/10/2015 The Board of regents granted reauthorization of the LSU Hurricane Center for a period of five years. A request for reauthorization shall be due by December 31, 2020. 04/27/2016 The BoR approved a request to change the name of the LSU Hurricane Center to the LSU CENTER FOR COASTAL RESILIENCY, to reflect the primary mission, with particular focus along the Louisiana coast; 4/29/2022 - Staff approved continued authorization. A report and request for continued authorization is due March 1, 2027.
