Conditional approval

The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to grant conditional approval for the Center for Child Development at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette for one year, effective immediately. As required by Board of Regents Academic Affairs Guidelines: Proposed New Centers, Institutes, and Other Academic/Research Units, ULL shall submit to the Commissioner of Higher Education a proposal for full approval of this center by February 1, 2007. If this proposal is not forthcoming by this date, the Board of Regents shall re-examine the need for this center.

2007/04/26: On motion of Regent Roy, seconded by Regent D'Aquin, the Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to grant full approval for the Center for Child Development at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for a period of five years from this date. By April 1, 2012, the University shall submit a request for additional authorization of the Center.
04/25/2012: Board of Regents granted full approval for the unit for a period of five years, effective immediately. A request for reauthorization will now be due by April 1, 2017.
04/26/2017: Board of Regents granted full approval for the reauthorization of the Center, with a subsequent report due by April 1, 2022; 3/14/2022 Staff approved the request for continued authorization until 4/1/2028. The Center was reauthorized as the Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development and Lifelong Learning.
