: The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to grant conditional approval for the proposed Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts & Occupations program (CIP Code 120503), at Louisiana Technical College Shreveport-Bossier, effective immediately. By August 1, 2007, the institution shall submit to the Commissioner of Higher Education a progress report addressing the numbers of students enrolled in the program, the number of graduates of the A.A.S program, and measures taken to promote completion of the program and activities of the Culinary Arts Advisory Board.

Conditions, Subsequent Action(s)

2008/01/24: On motion of Regent Roy, seconded by Regent Rasberry, the Board of Regents voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to receive the 2007 Progress Report from Louisiana Technical College-Shreveport/Bossier relative to implementation of the A.A.S. Program in Culinary Arts and Occupations. By August 1, 2008, the College shall submit a progress report to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs, addressing the following: 1. Number of program enrollees and graduates; 2. Projections for numbers of enrollees and graduates for the next three years; 3. Student support, promotion, and marketing efforts of the College and each respective program’s Advisory Board. 2008/09/25: The Board of Regents received the AY 2007-08 Progress Report Relative to Implementation of the Associate of Applied Science in Drafting & Design Technology, Culinary Arts & Occupations, and Office Systems Technology at LTC Shreveport-Bossier Campus. By June 1, 2009, the College shall submit to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs a subsequent progress report documenting numbers of enrollees/graduates and placement of graduates from both the associate and diploma levels of all three programs and including evidence of aggressive action to increase the numbers of enrollees and graduates of the programs. 2009/06/25: The Board of Regents received the June 2009 progress report relative to the implementation of the A.A.S. programs in Culinary Arts and Occupations, Office Systems Technology, and Drafting and Design Technology at the Louisiana Technical College-Shreveport. Subsequent progress reports for each aforementioned program, addressing previously mandated items and consistent with comments in the staff summary, shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs by June 1, 2010. The Board of Regents accepted the June 2010 progress report (August 2010 meeting) from Northwestern Louisiana Technical College, Shreveport Bossier Campus. By September 1, 2011, a progress report is due updating the Board on enrollment and completion figures for the A.A.S. in Culinary Arts & Occupations (CIP Code 12.0503). 2011/09/22: Board of Regents received the 2011 progress report. An annual report is due by September 1, 2012 addressing all items previously identified. 2012/10/24: The Board of Regents received the 2012 progress report. A subsequent report shall be due by September 1, 2013. 2013/09/26: The Board of Regents received and accepted the 2013 progress report. A subsequent report shall be due by September 1, 2014. 09.25.2014: The Board of Regents received and accepted the 2014 progress report. A subsequent report shall be due by September 1, 2015. 09.24.2015 The Board of Regents received and accepted the 2015 progress report. An update on program implementation is requested by September 1, 2016. The BoR received and accepted the 2016 report. Further justification for continuation is necessary for the upcoming review. If the program is maintained a subsequent progress report is due on 09.01.17 The BoR accepted the progress report. A subsequent report is requested by 06.01.18.
