: The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to grant conditional approval for the proposed B.S. program in Business Entrepreneurship (CIP Code 52.0701) at Southern University New Orleans, beginning Fall 2006. Prior to program implementation, University administrators shall meet with Mr. Donnie Vandal, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, and Mr. Gerard Killebrew, Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs, to discuss immediate funding needs and sources of such funding for the first year of program operations. The primary foci of these discussions shall be resource issues directly related to required AACSB program accreditation and efforts by the University to afford such resources within existing state funding. Thereafter, beginning June 1, 2007 and on that same date until AACSB program accreditation has been achieved, an annual report addressing these concerns shall be sent to Mr. Vandal and Mr. Killebrew and necessary follow-up meetings scheduled to resolve any outstanding issues. Upon implementation of the above program, the existing B.S. program in Business Administration (CIP Code 52.0201) at Southern University New Orleans is hereby terminated.

2008/01/24: On motion of Regent Roy, seconded by Regent Rasberry, the Board of Regents voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to receive the 2007 Progress Report from Southern University at New Orleans relative to implementation and accreditation of the B.S. program in Business Entrepreneurship. The next progress report shall be due December 1, 2008. 2009/03/26: The Board of Regents received the 2008 Progress Report from Southern-University-New Orleans relative to implementation and accreditation of the B.S. in Business Entrepreneurship. The next progress report concerning this program shall be due December 1, 2009. If, however, prior to that time, the University faces financial constraints which alter its current plans for timely program accreditation, SUNO shall arrange for a meeting with Regents’ staff to consider all options before taking action. 2010/01/28: The Board of Regents received the 2008 Progress Report from Southern-University-New Orleans relative to implementation and accreditation of the B.S. in Business Entrepreneurship. The next progress report concerning this program shall be due January 1, 2011 and shall specifically address student enrollment, student completers, the placement of student completers, filling of temporary faculty positions, and continuing progress toward AACSB accreditation. 02.23.2011: The Board of Regents accepted the January 2011 Progress Report. A subsequent report is due by January 1, 2012 addressing the following: student enrollment, student completers, placement of student completers, staffing and progress toward AACSB accreditation. 2012/06/27: The Board of Regents accepted the 2012 progress report. A subsequent report shall be due by June 1, 2013. The institution is asked to report on all areas previously noted. 2013/09/26: The Board of Regents received and accepted the 2013 progress report. No further reporting is necessary due to the stability of the program as well as achievement of AACSB accreditation.
