: The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to grant conditional approval for the proposed B.A. program in Public Administration (CIP Code 44.0401) at Southern University New Orleans; program implementation, however, shall be delayed until a Department Head/Program Director is hired. In addition, prior to program implementation, University administrators shall meet with Mr. Donnie Vandal, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, and Mr. Gerard Killebrew, Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs, to discuss immediate funding needs and sources of such funding for the first year of program operations. Thereafter, beginning June 1, 2007 and on the same date until the program is fully implemented, an annual report addressing these concerns shall be sent to Mr. Vandal and Mr. Killebrew and necessary follow-up meetings scheduled to resolve any outstanding issues.

2008/01/24: On motion of Regent Roy, seconded by Regent Rasberry, the Board of Regents voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee to receive the 2007 Progress Report from Southern University at New Orleans relative to implementation and accreditation of the B.A. in Public Administration. The next progress report shall be due December 1, 2008. 2009/06/25: The Board of Regents received the June 2009 progress report relative to implementation of the B.A. program in Public Administration at Southern University-New Orleans. The next progress report, including relevant student completion and graduate placement data, shall be due to the Associate 2010/06/24: The Board of Regents received the June 2010 progress report from Southern University at New Orleans relative to implementation and development of the B.A. in Public Administration. The following progress reports are due: 1. August 1, 2010 – placement information on program graduates; and 2. May 1, 2011 – enrollment and completion figures. 04/28/2011 As a result of the 2011 Academic Program/Low Completer Review the May 1, 2011 progress report previously stipulated will no longer be necessary. A progress report on the conditionally maintained program will be due on 10/02/2011 to include spring and summer completers along with the number of declared majors enrolled for the fall semester, by level. The report shall also describe any actions taken to strengthen student involvement in and progress through the programs. Any further information is reflected in the tracking data base under SUNO 2011 Academic Program/Low Completer review in order to condense records.
