: The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee for conditional approval of the proposed Associate of Science in Nursing program (CIP 51.1601) at Baton Rouge Community College. Prior to program implementation, College administrators shall meet with Mr. Donnie Vandal, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, and Mr. Gerard Killebrew, Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs, to discuss immediate funding needs and sources of such funding for the first year of program operation. The primary foci of these discussions shall be resource issues directly related to required NLNAC program accreditation and efforts by the College to afford such resources within existing state funding. Beginning January 15, 2008 and thereafter, the College shall submit an annual report to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs regarding the program's progress toward NLNAC accreditation.

Conditions, Subsequent Action(s)

2008/02/28: The Board of Regents received the 2008 Progress Report from Baton Rouge Community College relative to attainment of NLNAC accreditation for its Associate of Science in Nursing program. The next progress report addressing this matter shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs by January 15, 2009. 2009/03/26: The Board of Regents received the 2008 Progress Report from Baton Rouge Community College relative to accreditation of its A.S. Program in Nursing. Besides the next regularly schedule progress report due January 1, 2010, an interim progress report which addresses application for NLNAC candidacy shall be due no later than June 1, 2009. 2009/06/25: The Board of Regents received the June 2009 progress report relative to NLNAC accreditation of the A.S. program in Nursing at Baton Rouge Community College. A subsequent progress report, addressing previously mandated items and comments in the staff summary, shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs by January 1, 2010. 2010/01/28: The Board of Regents received the December, 2009 progress report from Baton Rouge Community College relative to NLNAC accreditation of the A.S. program in Nursing. A subsequent progress report, addressing the results of the accreditation visit anticipated in Fall 2010, shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs by January 1, 2011. 01/26/2011: 2010 progress report received. A subsequent report is due by May 1, 2011 addressing actions taken by NLNAC in spring 2011 relevant to accreditation. 2011/06/23 Board of Regents accepted the 2011 progress report noting that NLNAC accreditation was achieved. No further reporting is necessary at this time.
