Conditions, Subsequent Action(s)
2008/12/03: On motion of Regent D’Aquin, seconded by Regent Terrell, the Academic and Student Affairs Committee unanimously recommended that the Board of Regents grant full, five-year approval for the National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies Institute (NIMSAT) at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette through December 31, 2013. Before that date, the University shall submit a request for reauthorization of institute status. Should such a request not be received, the Board of Regents shall re-examine the need for this institute. By December 1, 2009, the University shall submit an interim financial progress report to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs documenting current and future sources of funding to support continued Institute operations.
2010/01/28: The Board of Regents received the December, 2009 Progress Report Relative to Future Funding Prospects for the National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies Institute at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Given continuing serious questions regarding the levels of future state support for higher education in Louisiana, a statement from the University indicating its willingness to operate the Institute without future state support and within the limits of solely external funding should be required. This statement shall be due in the Office of Deputy Commissioner for Academic and Student Affairs by February 15, 2010.
Staff note: Database does not indicate receipt of the Feb 2010 report
03.26.2014: The Board of Regents granted reauthorization of the Institute through March 1, 2018. After this period of time the institution will need to submit a request for reauthorization.
