Condition Text: 2009/04/23: The Board of Regents granted another year of conditional approval through June 30, 2010, for the Ernest J. Gaines Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. If upon expiration of this term the University decides to continue center operations, UL-Lafayette shall submit a request for full approval. Should such a request not be received by the aforementioned date, the Board of Regents shall re-examine the need for this unit. 2010.08.25: The Board of Regents graned full approval for the Ernest J. Gaines Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette through June 30, 2015. No later than this date, a request for reauthorization of center status is due. 08.26.2015 The Board of Regents reauthorized the Ernest J. Gaines Center through September 1, 2020. No later than this date, a request for reauthorization of center status is due; 8/20/2021: Staff granted five-year reauthorization of the Center. The next request for continued authorization is due 8/1/2026. The request must include an update on plans to increase external funding and decrease dependence on institutional funds.
