: The Board of Regents granted conditional approval for the proposed Associate of Science program in Criminal Justice (CIP Code 43.0107) at Baton Rouge Community College, effective Fall 2008. By August 1, 2008, the College shall submit a progress report to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs which details efforts at securing additional faculty lines for this program. Additionally, a complete budget and budget explanation for program operations should also be submitted. Contingent upon the contents of this report, additional progress reports may be required.

Conditions, Subsequent Action(s)

2008/09/25: Receive the AY 2007-08 Report Relative to the implementation of the Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Baton Rouge Community College. By August 1, 2009, a progress report shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs documenting: 1. The hiring of a second qualified FTE faculty by Fall, 2009; 2. A criminal justice course rotation schedule with faculty assignments for AY 2010-2012; 3. Numbers of student enrollees/graduates and placement of graduates; and 4. A corrected and up-to-date budget, including both sources of revenues and areas of expenditures. 2009/10/22: The Board of Regents received the AY 2008-09 report relative to the implementation of the Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Baton Rouge Community College. By February 1, 2010, an interim report addressing the hiring of at least one additional FT faculty shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs and providing student number projections for another three years. 2010/03/24: The Board of Regents received the February 2010 progress report relative to the implementation and development of the A.S. in Criminal Justice at Baton Rouge Community College and authorizes implementation of the program for Fall 2010. As all previously stated stipulations associated with conditional approval have been met, the staff recommends full program approval at this time. As such, no further progress reports are deemed necessary.
