: The Board of Regents granted conditional approval for the proposed B.A. in History (CIP Code 54.0101) degree program at Southern University - New Orleans. The University shall address fulfillment of program stipulations as outlined in the Staff Analysis, beginning with a progress report to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs, due August 1, 2008. Depending on the contents of this report, the Committee shall consider program implementation at its August 2008 meeting.04.26.17: BoR granted approval to terminate the BA/History program.

Conditions, Subsequent Action(s)

2008/08/27: The Board of Regents authorized implementation of the B.A. program in History (CIP Code 54.0101) at Southern University-New Orleans, effective Fall, 2008. Beginning September 1, 2009, and annually on that date until otherwise directed, the University shall report to the Associate Commissioner of Academic Affairs the following data: a. Numbers of program enrollees and completers; b. Placement of program graduates; c. Faculty and support personnel numbers; and d. Annual program budget. 2009/10/22: The Board of Regents received the October 2009 progress report from Southern University at New Orleans relative to implementation and development of the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree program in History. By September 1, 2010, the University shall submit to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs a subsequent progress report addressing the following: a. Number of program enrollees as compared to projections in the original proposal; b. Number of program graduates and the career placement information for these graduates as compared to projections in the original proposal; and c. Adequacy of faculty/staffing for the program. 2010/10/27 Board of Regents accepted the September 2010 progress report. By September 1, 2011 a subsequent progress report is due. This report should provide an update on enrollments, completers, placement of graduates, and faculty and fiscal support. 04/28/2011 as a result of the 2011 Academic Program/Low Completer Review the progress report previously stipulated will no longer be necessary. A progress report on the conditionally maintained program will be due on 10/01/2011 to include spring and summer completers along with the number of declared majors enrolled for the fall semester, by level. The report shall also describe any actions taken to strengthen student involvement in and progress through the programs. Any further information is reflected in the tracking data base under SUNO 2011 Academic Program/Low Completer review in order to condense records.
