The Board of Regents granted one-year, conditional approval for the proposed Institute for Dementia Research and Prevention (IDRP) at the Louisiana State University Pennington Biomedical Research Center, effective immediately through September 30, 2009. Prior to that date, the institution shall submit to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs a request for full approval. Should such request not be received by the aforementioned date, the Board of Regents shall re-examine the continuing need for this unit; Board of Regents approved continued authorization of the Institute for Dementia Research and Prevention on August 22, 2018, for a five-year period. A request for reauthorization is due May 1, 2023.

08/27/2009 The Board of Regents granted continued approval for the Institute for Dementia Research and Prevention at the Louisiana State University Pennington Biomedical Research Center through June 30, 2013. Beginning June 30, 2010, and annually on that date thereafter, progress report documenting external funding efforts shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs. Prior to the date of expiration, a request for reauthorization of institute status shall be due to the Associate Commissioner for Academic Affairs. Should the request not be received by the aforementioned date, the Board of Regents shall re-examine the need for this unit. 04.24.2013: The Board of Regents granted five-year reauthorization of the Institute. A request for reauthorization shall be due by May 1, 2018; The Board of Regents approved continued authorization of the IDRP on August 22, 2018, for a five-year period. A request for reauthorization is due May 1, 2023.
