The Board of Regents granted conditional approval for the M.S. in Homeland Security (CIP Code 43.0301) at Northwestern State University. By January 1, 2014 and annually until fully approved, the campus shall submit a report indicating: number of students enrolled in and graduated from the program and progress toward specialized accreditation.Staff note: The Letter of Intent was approved 01/24/2008 for a MS in Global Security and Counter-terrosism. In the full proposal, the campus requested the name be changed to the MS in Homeland Security.

A subsequent report addressing the pursuit of specialized accreditation and program completer/enrollment shall be due by January 1, 2014.
2014/02/17: Board of Regents accepted the progress report received in January 2014. A subsequent report is requested by January 1, 2015.
2015/01/12: The Board of Regents received and accepted the 2014 progress report. A subsequent report shall be due by January 1, 2016.
2016/03/23: The Board of Regents received and accepted the progress report and determined that no further reporting is necessary, based on program productivity.
